Letters and documents recording the activities of the 57th Indiana Regiment, Jan. 1862-Nov. 1865. Records include special and general orders, lists of men attached for duty, and circulars. Topics include leaves, discharges, promotions, tactics and drilling, conduct, and accountability for ordnance and supplies. The records were probably from the papers of Captain John S. McGraw who commanded the unit from May 2, 1865 until it mustered out.
